United Doctors Hospital wins the 2018 King Khalid Award for Responsible Competitiveness

His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Asir Region and Chairman of the King Khalid Award, announced the names of the winners of the award for the year 2018 in its three branches: “Development Partners”, “Excellence for Non-Profit Organizations” and “Responsible Competitiveness”, during a press conference held this evening at the King Khalid Foundation headquarters in Riyadh.

In his speech on the occasion, His Highness explained that the King Khalid Charitable Foundation has adopted to achieve prosperity by activating the role of contributors in development and empowering them through social investment and capacity building to ensure the emergence of a Saudi society in which opportunities are equal and organizations and individuals seek to contribute effectively to it.

From this principle, the King Khalid Award, with its three branches, came as one of the aspects of interaction in line with Vision 2030 by supporting social initiatives and national private non-profit organizations and enabling them to adopt the best practices of sustainable development work, which makes them able to continue making achievements and continue to support development in our dear homeland.

HH The Amir noted that in the coming years, the award will expand to include the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain and Kuwait to compete for the award, and congratulated the winners of the three branches of the award.

Announcement of winners

His Highness announced the names of the winners in the three branches of the award, announcing the winners of the “Al-Hasala” initiative in the first place, the “Adam Campaign” initiative in the second place, and the “Book Club” initiative in the third place, within the “Development Partners” branch.

In the “Excellence for Non-Profit Organizations” branch, the first place (Al-Kawthar Health Charity Association), the second place (Family Development Association in Medina) and the third place (First Women’s Charity Association in Jeddah) were awarded.

His Highness also announced the names of the winning entities in the “Responsible Competitiveness” branch, where Huawei Saudi Arabia won the first place, the National Petrochemical Industries Company came second, while the third place was won by ” United Doctors Hospital.” The award is given to distinguished organizations in the field of sustainability, as it aims to encourage private sector enterprises to adopt leading practices in the field of responsible competitiveness to activate the role of the sector in the development of society.

It is noteworthy that United Doctors Hospital was selected due to the pioneering practices applied by the hospital regarding community partnership programs, as well as the systems and initiatives it implements by investing time and financial resources to implement innovative programs in line with the hospital’s strategy, in addition to the hospital’s first sustainability report for 2018 in accordance with the GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards.

It is noteworthy that all the winners will be honored at a ceremony that will be held in November under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz in the capital, Riyadh.
