As part of its duty to educate the community, patients and their families, United Doctors Hospital has recently held several educational events to raise awareness about the A/H1N1 influenza pandemic, commonly known as swine flu
These include the following:
1- 1000 copies of an educational pamphlet about the A(H1/N1) flu were printed in a simplified manner for the public, and the pamphlet is equipped with many illustrations.
2- A number of 3 awareness stands measuring 85×200 have been prepared to raise awareness of the disease and ways to prevent it, to be displayed and moved in different places in the hospital.

3- As part of a pre-prepared plan to raise awareness about infection control, the hospital held several educational lectures for medical and administrative staff under the title:
– Over view on infection control
– Isolation Precaution”
– Environmental Infection Control
– Healthcare Associated Infection
4- One of the initiatives in which United Doctors Hospital is one of the pioneers in the Kingdom is the initiative to celebrate the World Handwashing Day within several events that included a lecture on handwashing through PowerPoint presentations of the correct method of handwashing for medical and administrative staff in the hospital and was held in the hall “Bin Aboud” in the presence of the General Manager and the Medical Director, then followed by a field educational tour in the hospital in which the General Manager and members of the Quality and Infection Control Department participated, where nursing staff were visited as well as patient rooms and practical training on the correct method of handwashing was practiced.
5. The hospital has also taken the initiative to install several self-sanitizing hand sanitizers in various high-traffic areas of the hospital, such as elevators, patient waiting and visiting rooms, sick rooms, nursing staff gathering areas, as well as operating rooms and main corridors.
